Our team tends to browse around the web a lot… finding useful sites that provide the tools needed to get the job done. One such site is Stock.XCHNG, a royalty free image site with tens of thousands of good images. While half of the population is “left brain” and prefers my written word, the other half is “right brain” and prefers a snappy image or two in a blog post.

Stock.XCHNG was launched in February 2001, as an alternative for expensive stock photography. The idea was to create a site where creative people could exchange their photos for inspiration or work. In about two years the site evolved into this massive community you see now - there are over 1.000.000 registered users and more than 250.000 photos online!

In addition to the free XCHNG, they also have the premium version with slightly better images at Stockxpert.com. StockXpert has images for as little as $1 each, which is a pretty good bargain for a picture that adds flavor and readability to a post or project.
