Other Smart People - Maki, a.k.a DOSH DOSH
I have no idea how old Maki is (his writing sounds young, yet his talent is extensive) or what he actually looks like (his images are always fun Anime characters), but I have been reading his Dosh Dosh blog for a long time. He is one of the most in-depth writers there are about aspects of social media and working with business online. In addition to “big picture” ideas, he digs deep into the tactical level of working with online marketing and goes the extra mile for helping readers understand the “where and why” of being successful in this online medium.
Maki has some reason to be proud about his site:
- More than 250,000 pageviews a month
- Among the Top 25 biggest blogs in the world (According to Technorati)
- Top 10 on the Technorati Most Favorited Blog List
- 13,000+ RSS Feed subscribers
If you imagine having 13,000 people waking up every morning and waiting to read about what you have to say- you’ve got Maki. That type of aptitude and prolific nature make me think that I would get along very well with him having a drink or two and talking to the wee hours of the morning about the “life of a social media” geek.
Having just launched this site on April 1st, I am a long way behind DoshDosh’s readership- but things are moving along better than anticipated due in part to some of the lessons I’ve learned from Maki. Below are three articles he wrote fairly recently that are excellent reading material.
